Ushongo Beach - around 17 km (11 miles) south of the old Arab slaving town of Pangani, is possibly the most seductive place to find yourself barefoot under a thatched umbrella with scubadiving, snorkling, and fishing just around the corner. We plan safaries to nearby safariparks or safaries before or after your stay to all of Tanzanias nationalparks.

Discover an underwater safari by exploring Maziwe Marine Reserve in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Tanzania.  Staying at The Baobab Beach Villa brings you close to discover this marine paradise. Considered one of the best diving destinations along the Eastern African Coast, Maziwe offers a wide variety of underwater marine life and a pristine and beautiful reef system.

Maziwe Island


Make sure to visit the underwater wonderland of Maziwe Private Marine Reserve. Create a surreal day in the middle of the Indian Ocean complete with shaded parasols, picnic lunch and ice cold refreshments. The well preserved coral and frequent turtle sightings will stand out in your memories for decades to come, a memory so surreal it may seem like a dream.

Fishing and boat trips


Boat trips and fishing trips are only a few minutes away.


Fish the Zanzibar Channel for big game fish, such as Marlin, Sail Fish & Tuna. We have the contacts to arrange trips with local fishing experts, who are very experienced in these waters and who have been fishing here for over 15 years.

Saadani National Park


Saadani is where the beach meets the bush. It is the only park in East Africa with an Indian Ocean beachfront.

Saadani is measuring about 1100 sq. km in size, has a diverse population of mammals and birds. Elephant, leopard, lion, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, colobus monkey, hippo, crocodile, and the rare Roosevelt sable can be seen here. Saadani offers a choice of a driving safari, nature walk, and boat safari on the Wami River.
